Circus Maximus
The Circus Maximus, laid out in the Murcia valley between the Palatine and the Aventine hills is now transformed into a long esplanade. It was the largest circus in Rome.
It was used exclusively for racing chariots drawn by two, three or four horses which drew larger crowds than any other spectacle.
In the Era of Augustus the Circus Maximus became very magnificent. It could accomodate 150,000 spectators.
